My name is Don Layton, and I am excited to start my sixth year as Superintendent of Malakoff ISD!

We finished a thrilling 2023-2024 school year with academic, athletic, and fine arts successes under our belt, and 2024-2025 will carry on the same tradition of excellence! 

We are starting school a little later than usual this year, but I want to encourage everyone to come out and support our Tigers beginning this August and throughout the school year in their many activities and contests. I know they will make all of us proud. MISD is also very excited to open a new Malakoff Intermediate School, Malakoff Junior High, and our new Malakoff High School campus. It is been a long process, and we want to say thank you to the entire Malakoff community and MISD staff for supporting MISD while under construction. 

 As we welcome students back, please know that Malakoff ISD will always take the safety of students and staff very seriously. I look forward to seeing all of our new and returning students, staff, parents, and community members this school year. If I can help you in any way, don’t hesitate to contact me.
