In accordance with Texas Senate Bill 13, Malakoff ISD is committed to transparency and parental involvement in the selection of new library materials for our campuses.

Proposed library book purchase lists for each MISD campus are available below for parent and guardian review. During the review period, you may:

·       View proposed library book purchase lists for your child’s campus

·       Review the list for a 30-day period

The book lists will be posted for review from January 5, 2026, through February 5, 2026.

If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback regarding a title under consideration for the campus your child attends, please submit your input within the 30-day review window by emailing Brandi Sutton (brandi.sutton@malakoffisd.org) or Patti Turner (patti.turner@malakoffisd.org).

If no parent concerns are submitted during the review period, the School Library Advisory Council (SLAC) will review the proposed lists and make recommendations to approve or deny titles. The Malakoff ISD Board of Trustees will then vote to approve or disapprove the purchase of the listed books.
